Astor Place
Tiny but mighty, a neighborhood where downtown Mahattan comes together. The cube may no longer be spinning (last time we checked, but who knows), but it's still the meeting spot. Catch some experimental theater at The Public or just watch the endless stream of NYU students trying to look cool. Somehow, the mix of old school buildings and shiny new towers works.
